From AS-Rs "*** Official Forums Membership Rules ***" sticky:
5. No discussion of dangerous or illegal acts This one should be pretty obvious. Given the nature of airsoft, there can be many things which can be done that are socially or technically unsafe. Airsoft is based around exact replicas of real weapons that also shoot BBs at high velocity, so a fair degree of responsibility is a requirement.
In other words, discussion of the use of fireworks, pyrotechnics, gunpowder or similar explosive materials along with instructions and/or links to instructions which outline how to make explosive devices using those materials is not acceptable here on AS-R and the particular post or thread will get deleted.
This is nothing new and has always been enforced here in these forums. But it appears since the start of the "Miscellaneous Weapons" forum that some people think it is now OK to talk about using fireworks, gunpowder, pyrotechnics, etc. Nothing has changed just because we added a new forum, and those items are still off limits for discussion. AS-R views the use of fireworks, pyrotechnics, gunpowder and similar explosive materials, as well as some model rockets, as unsafe for use in conjunction with airsoft (and in many states it also would be illegal) and therefore does not condone their uses.
The bottom line is that if you make a post breaking that rule, more than likely the whole thread will be deleted. - RLB |

If it falls under a "dangerous act" which could cause severe injury or harm to yourself or anyone around you, I'm going to shut the thread down. In other words, if a 'spud type gun' is being used to fire BBs or nerf footballs at a reasonable FPS mortar/canon/bazooka style via compressed air, I see no problem. If other projectiles are being used, or being suggested for use, which could cause severe injury or harm, then I will take action. - RLB |

| Thanks for making this thread. Maybe we'll finally be able to stop the steady flow of "my sweet airsoft grenade idea" posts that are just a container, bbs and a firecracker. |

the problem is while they are 1.4G the are not "cousomer" fireworks, they are Articles pyrotechnic. Pyrotechnic devices for professional use. flash-bangs are also Articles pyrotechnic and we don't see them showing up @ games!!!!! here is a converstion with a UK "grenade" maker http://www.neasg.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10850 now to top it off... you live in FA, anything that explodes is banded there...so even if some one could make the grenades "counsomer" leval (50mg or less of powder) they would be ileagle in your state, heres FA's laws "Devices approved and listed by State Fire Marshal which emit a shower of sparks upon burning, do not contain any explosive compounds, do not detonate or explode, are hand held or ground based, cannot propel themselves through the air, and that contain not more than 100 grams of the chemical compound that produces sparks upon burning."
" fairly safe model rocketry engines" safe for who??? the shooter, the dry woods??, the reciving target??? fireing rockets with airsoft warheads is not a good idea...
OK fokes if it burns, smokes, neededs to be lit, etc its a "pyro" item and baned here, that would inclued using a lit cigret as a time "fuse" to burn threw a string that is holding back a mouse trap loaded with BBs
get it??
