Uberwoot, the Mk23 is NOT the first choice of special forces. Please try not to believe what you see in video games. The USP Tactical is a better choice than the Mk23. Don't forget Sig P226 DAKs, etc.
I'd go for the G18c. Same performance without the useless size, which makes you need to get a special holster.
Uberwoot, if you think the G18c is huge, you think the Mk23 is going to be better? The G18c is small compared to that. |

lol its not from games.
the socom mk23 was the first choice for a secondary wheapon for seal team 6 and that was stated directly from dick marsiko aka richard marsinko cpt of seal team 6. it was chosen cuz its chambered for a .45 APC cartrage the recol is less than outher 45's due to a nice reciol dampner system on it. the silde release, safty and decocking leaver can all be reacked by your right thumb. But H&K and in alot of version of guns and ammo the mk23 was used by 88% of speical force units when a large call. bullet is needed to inflict maxum damage on a human in the shortest amount of time and with less bullets. Please get your facts right in every picture i seen of a navy seal from seal team 3 5 and 6 they all had H&K MK-23's.

Sorry if the following hurts your feelings. It's late, and it annoys me when people post incorrect information and claim its factual. ---------------------------------------------------------- USP Tactical. Same features in a smaller package. There were many features that the U.S. government wanted in an "offensive" handgun. The Mk23 is no doubt impressive with it's great accuracy, but there are many complaints about its size, its main, and singular drawback. As accurate and controllable as it is, the SOCOM pistol is a behemoth. You haven't handled one before, so I wouldn't expect you to understand.
My facts are correct. Seal teams do not even come close to making the bulk of special forces. Don't even try to prove me wrong. You don't even fully understand how different silencers work. You even went so far as to say silencers dont reduce velocity. It's 45 ACP, not APC. It'd be very hard to fire an Armored Personel Carrier out of a handgun.
When's the last time you handled at firearm? Try the new Glock G.A.P. Same performance of the .45 ACP cartridge in a smaller package. Small enough to stick it in a Glock 17 frame.
You say every picture of Seal Teams 3,5,6 show the Mk23 as a sidearm. You must not have seen many pictures. I can give you at least 10 pictures of SEALs with guns other than Mk23s. You handle one before? It's huge. It rivals the size of a Desert Eagle. They're using Beretta's, Sigs, USP Tacs, etc. Mk23s aren't standard issue.
Now this is the important part. The part where you make yourself look like an incompetent moron. The Mk23 wasn't designed as a sidearm. It's designed as an offensive weapon, not a defensive such as a conventional sidearm. Know what this means? Obviously not. It means it's used to replace shoulder fired weapons. This is why you don't see a guy with an assault rifle or subgun and a Mk23 at the same time. Offensive Handgun Weapon System. That's the program. Keyword: Offensive.
Don't say all sidearms are offensive. Sidearms are usually used as backups, or last ditch weapons. Mk23 is used as a primary.
And for gods sakes, work on your spelling!
------------------------------------------ Back on topic, I still say go with the G18c. There are no advantages if you choose the Mk23.
------------------------------------------ And Uberwoot, you still haven't come up with proof for ANY of your LPEG mods, as well as how you stuck a Mk23 into a BlackHawk Omega VI Assault Holster. |

| Yeah, the mk23 is MASSIVE. I'd say go with the Glock 18c since you're not married to the mk23 idea. I've never held an 18c (just a UHC 17, one of the most ergonomic handguns I've ever held), but it's got to be easier to use and more ergonomic than the mk23. The mk23 is like holding a brick! (But I still like it becuase I am a MGS nut!) |

From personal experiance i know that both guns are absolutely useless in a skirmish unless its in an office building and your opponent isnt smart enough to walk out of the way of oncoming fire. personally, i think you should go out, earn some extra money, and buy a gas pistol instead of a EBB. Even if money is an issue you will be able to afford certain GBB guns that will still be much higher quality than any EBB on the market.
you can get a decent glock GBB and do a switcheroo during a match... you friends think you have a dinky EBB and suddenly, *BANG BANG BANG*! and they run for the nearest shed/bush/tree/teammate for cover |

| Or just a decent spring pistol if you don't want to spend 60+ bucks. A UHC or KWC spring pistol should have twice the power/range as a JLS EBB... |

tedtay you should go with the GLOCK 18c.And that it would be easier to be able to handle 2 = sized guns.I mean it could get real awkward akimboing to differently sized guns.

Did he say anything about akimboing?
But yeah, I guess you are right. EBBs are good for double-weilding, since you don't have to keep cocking them. But I still say a decent springer is best for a sidearm. |

this isnt really related but all this talk of Mk.23's has me GASing for one. but EBB's are'nt my cup o' tea. does anyone know of a good spring version of the SOCOM? in this case realism would be a priority so if anyone's come across one with features that add to this like an open ejection port and locking slide.
Also my friend's cousin, a Delta Force operative, recently came home from Iraq, and he took us to the shooting range to show us some of his goodies that he actually used on ops. illegal arms were in abundance (for MA anyway), like a supressed M4, AK47, and one assault rifle i've never seen before. anyways his sidearm was a 1911 and he said he swore by it. just thought i'd add that bit. |

| I know TM makes an MK23 springer. I believe they were the first to bring the gun into the airsoft world. I also could have sworn somebody said something about a HFC/KWC MK23 as well, but I am not sure. Check out the springer forum, they'd know better... |
