Apparently TM wants to release their MP7 by summer of this year. According to the following link from the good people at Arnie's Airsoft, the great success of the higher quality (yet higher priced) M14 has inspired TM to create their MP7A1 to extrodinary detail and quality. For more about the MP7 and all the other things seen at the Blackhole show, check this link:

| Probably still 7.2V, but I'm guessing an 8.4 is a viable high ROF option. I'm just already impressed that they've figured out the gearbox already. |

If anyone was unfortunate to see the movie stealth
i finally found the sidearm she used , i thought it looked like a retangular box with a pistol grip and a barrel sticking out of it exceptit didn't have another grip in fornt like the Marui has
i'm impressed its not another MP5 or M4 |

I didn't see any info on what kind of gearbox it will be. |

i'm glad it's not another MP5 or M4, although it is a close cousin of the MP5.
anyways, i'm kind of interested in seeing the gearbox.
//Edit: the gearbox is interesting because in just about every other gun, the motor was stored in the hollowed-out pistol grip, which is where the MP7's mag should go. also, the MP7 has VERY limitting space. |

But will it be a version 5 or an AEP? That's what I want to know. |

That's absolutely gorgeuos; I may be purchasing one for a sniper's sidearm along with mt KA Dragunov (provided I have sufficient funding.) Yeah, I know it's really not a proper loadout, but oh well; form over function in my book. I'd also like to know what battery it'll take; although I'm thinking AK-S type. Will it have magic Marui powers enabling it to have suprising range and accuracy like the MP5K? And finnally the biggy: What about magazines in all this? New magazines made for it, or will it accept other mags? (Oh dear lord; it'd look terrible with a normal curved MP5 mag.) What about hi-caps? If normal MP5 hi-caps only hold 300....We may be in trouble. Being a H&K, there'll (hopefully) be plenty of accessories...And a metal body, because some of you know me. ^_^ I'll write a review if I do get one if you'd like. Have a nice day. ~Matthew |

it's pictured with a 7.2v battery, so that's probably what it'll use. Marui has been able to maintain all of the properties of an AEG (especially well on range and accuracy) into a G18C and M93R, so i don't see why the MP7 should be any different.
also, MP5 hi-caps only hold 200. M4/M16/Stanag mags most commonly hold 300, one or two brands can hold up to 450.
but yea, i never really thought of it. i hope it isn't another AEP, but that's solely based on the AEP's power. if they could get it higher than 200 (i think it was), i'd be a happy customer.
of course, seeing as they plan to come out with a Tec-9 and Mac-10, so an AEP that isn't a pistol is pretty likely. |

Update on MP7A1 status:
TM has released all the info you need to know on their website. of course, being a Japan-based company, the whole sites in Japanese except for a few links.
http://www.tokyo-marui.co.jp/_test/MP7A1/top.html
it does appear to have AEP internals, but they've boosted the FPS to 90 m/s, which is AEG-level. yes, it does come with a 7.2v battery (i'm guessing it's the same as the AEP battery).
low-cap holds 50 rounds, no word on hi-caps as of yet. |

Definately NOT an SPP in stealth. It was an MP7, and she never exteneded the stock. Wasn't it cool to the the G36, AUG, and Dragunov in that movie too?
There's a big difference between an AEP and AEG. They're both upgradable, but you can get the FPS and/or ROF hella high on a AEG mechbox, where AEPs use much smaller motors, gears, and piston assemblies. Also, there are only a small handful of upgrades for AEPs, any the advantage is only marginal in installing them.
I'll be very disappointed if it's an AEP using stick mags. If they make a wind-up highcap w/ about 200 rds, then I'll get one; otherwise I'll probably get the gas vesion for better power.
BTW, the MP5 is a scaled down G3 delayed-roller blowback system. The MP7 is a scaled down G36 rotary-locking bolt, gas operated system. The mp7 (which is now designated MP7A1 after entering service) is NOT related to the mp5 or g3.
The mp7 doesn't use mp5 mags either, (uses a totally different cartridge), but the extended mag DOES curve forward slightly.
There looks to be a decent amount of space in the back and above the barrel, esp. if they use a parallel-mounted motor. The rails for the collapsible stock are in bulges on the sides, like the mp5 style stocks.
See ya at the field! -SilentVectorX |

well im sure they could use the UZI's motor and mechbox assembly for it. just hopefully the mechbox will not be plastic like the UZI so u can upgrade.
edit: and looking at the pics in the link, i can see that the mag will be full sized and not a stick. |

I just noticed that on redwolf as well.
From the looks of things, it'll be built just like the Uzi as they've got no reason not to use the same gearbox setup. Only forseeable problem will be magazines because even though there are real steel extended magazines that extend below the bottom of the grip, they're still not much bigger than an MP5K magazine. So don't count on a decent hi-cap. Not sure why they didn't just use another battery type though. Could've at least fit a mini type in there somewhere (like the butt stock). |
