I have searched under airsoft grenade but nothing was any help...sort of.
My question is after you pull the pin on a general airsoft grenade how would you make delay long enough to throw it actually? |

I know some go off by impact but what pushes what, that hits what causes this and makes it do that.
i'm basically asking for a diagram on how to make it delay |

The left is the escort grenade. The yellow part is the filling port, the gas passes through the white tube, and into the grey gas chamber. There is a hole at the bottom which is plugged up by the white tube. A spring (not shown) pushes the tube up through an o-ring (the black thing) which slows it down. When the spring pushes the tube far enough the hole at the bottom opens up and the gas escapes. How long it takes is determined how far the tube is pushed down.
The right is the grenade I'm working on. The grey is a gas chamber from a uhc usp gas magazine. It is filled at the top (yellow) and the gas comes out the bottom (white). It is plugged up by a cork (blue) that is held in place by a metal rod leading to a modified egg timer (green). The egg timer has had some gears removed and cut so that it can be set to 0-12 sconds. When the timer runs out, the part which would normally move the hammer to make the ding moves the metal rod out of the way so the cork is pushed out by the gas in the gas chamber.
Clear enough? |

| I was planning to finish it and then post the entire thing, but I'll take a pic of just the timer/gas cannister tomorrow and post it. |

Escort Grenade had many flaws, but I bet someone will come along and make it better
Filling is as simple as closing the spoon and putting the pin into the right slot. The delay is based on two o-rings gripping the main pin valve, the grip is depend on how hard the fuse body is screwed to the main body. The spoon holds down the main pin valve, when you pull it, the valve slides up, the gas escapes from the bottom. To get the right effect, one stopper is pushed in, then the payload (bb's, flour, whatever), then another stopper. The stoppers are corded and strung to the main body so you dont lose them. |

| sorry, but that grenade won't have a delay, the spring will just shoot the plunger out when the pin is relesed if the spring is too powerful, and if it isnt powerful enough, the grenade will be WEAK |

You don't get it. They were both talking about the Escort Grenades, which are gas operated, reusable grenades that you can buy from a lot of airsoft stores. They are not talking about designs for a grenade that they want to make. |

| Exactly. The pic that Spiggy posted is a more detailed version of the one I posted, and it does in fact work. I would prefer to use the gas chamber of the escort grenade and put on my own body, but I don't have the rescources to make it, nor do I wish to buy one for $40. |

Ziz, the time is set with two minor o-rings (the two on the top) that sit between the fuse body and the main body. The fuse body is screwed on and that squeezes the o-rings, which create the variable tension to friction that holds down the main pin valve.
The grenade's power is decent, spread is the best part as the blast is so violent that it tends to throw itself around
All in all, the AG01 would make a better investment though- I would rather use these Escort grenades for can-mines |
