Op: Night Scorpion (John Lu op) - Dallas, TX
Friday, March 03, 2006
Mark your calendars and start to prepare ASAP, as a John Lu op is now coming to Texas. Scheduled for 3/3/06-3/4/06 near Dallas, this op will involve a night skirmish on Friday night for those that can make it (check-in Friday afternoon), followed by a full day of continuous gameplay on Saturday, ending with a raffle. The event, with official name to be released soon, will feature Middle East-themed urban property, unknown combatants and non-combatants, VIPs acting as COs, and other features typical of a John Lu op.
Unfamiliar with John Lu's previous ops and/or what is involved? The series of Op: Lion Claws and Op: Irene are two of the more recognizable events in the US and also noted overseas. http://www.oplionclaws.com/ The events have been featured in media: http://www.oplionclaws.com/media/LionLo.wmv http://www.oplionclaws.com/media/life-article.pdf
Check out action from Op: Irene at these links: http://www.blackeagleairsoft.net/recon.html http://www.airsoftplayers.com/forum...p?TOPIC_ID=8306
Due to the involvement and level of this op with the associated property access and admin needs, this event will cost significantly more than what most Texas players are used to, but expect to experience milsim action and atmosphere as shown in the links above.
Fully-sealing goggles are required. Preliminary replica muzzle velocities reflect the TASO ruleset: www.texasairsoft.org However, any clarifications will be forthcoming in the near future at http://www.oplionclaws.com/ regarding rules, uniform requirements, field info, and all other intel.

Having attended 4 of John Lu's events, I can say they are well worth it. He gets some of the best AO's, it interesting meeting people from across the US, and I've learned a lot from Col. McKnight, Col. Longrear, and Msgt. Mullen.
Team TAC would love to attend, but a 20+ hour drive is just a little too much for us, even if it's going to be a great event. Best of luck, I know the John and you will pull off a good one. |

Thanks nextmayor.
From John Lu:
quote:
Last call for Texans on OPNS. Texan registration will close tomorrow afternoon and open LC veteran registration tomorrow night/Saturday. Hotel CO under MSG Mullen is at 85% capacity while Golf is open due largely to uniform requirement.
I'm certain there will be room for General Registration as well, but mainly in Golf CO (3-color desert bdu).
Lionclaws
This doesn't mean Texans cannot register any longer. It merely means that the op is now first-come, first-serve for everyone. |

| I encourage all registered players (and those just curious I suppose also) to visit the official OPNS forums to keep track of rules and other information as it comes online: http://www.oplionclaws.com/forums/index.php |

Please remind those attending with you that uniforms are to be enforced. No exceptions:

Uniform Code Golf: US ARMY Desert (3 or 6 colors) CAMO BDU CO: Col. Paul Longgrear
Hotel: US ARMY WOODLAND CO: MSG "Mad Max" Mullen
